NPC Database
NPCs (Non-Player Characters) are found on just about every RP game out there. Usuaully they're the town drunk, or the dirty-faced orphan, the fat and shrewd merchant, or the happy go lucky tavern wench. They are, in most cases, simply background filler or targets for murders, attacks, or other nasty things that players might not want to inflict on their own characters. What we at Memorium would like to do is give our NPCs more of a story behind the face, to make the NPCs seem more 'real', more like real members of the city, just like the PCs. For that reason we have created the NPC database.
The NPC datatbase consists of NPCs that players have created and used in RP and allow others to use them as well. Turn that faceless street sweeper into an old man named Marcel who has seven children to feed but who is never without a smile and a a bow for anyone. if Marcel happened to die it might be more meaning ful rather than just saying that the local street sweepeer died. These NPCs can be used by anyone in RP for whatever purpose suits the scene so if you have an NPC to submit, please make sure they are 'unattached.' Do not submit, for example, your character's handmaid or younger brother if you don't want other people determining what they might do. These NPCs are general public people that may or may not be famous in the city the live.
Anyone can submit an NPC to the database. Send the NPC's name, age (exact or approximate), area, and brief description of their appearance and personality to memorium@silverselene.com and the character will be added. Also, if an NPC appeals to you enough that you want to play that character, please speak with the area admin about making an NPC into a PC.
Name: Aris
Age: Late teens
Area: Avanne
Description: A jovial young man with dark hair and eyes he is well-known to those in Cecidia, the New City, though he claims no one trade. While not as well-known in Montremarche, he is still a familiar figure, even though not many know his name, or care to find out. He is most often seen as a delivery boy, but has stuck his fingers into a variety of trades, perhaps trying to find one that fits. He is known to be quite the klutz, usually seen with bruises or with a part of his body wrapped in bandages.
Name: Ciolo
Age: late 40s
Area: Avanne
Description: Salt-and-pepper hair, shorter than average and a bit heavier
than average, Ciolo is a kind-faced man with a dry and incisive wit. He
is one of Avanne's most famous troubadours, responsible for the "Lament
for the Failing of the Sun", composed to the memory of Queen Oriabel. He,
along with his professional and romantic partner Tibar, forms part of the
most sought-after touring group in Avanne and its surroundings.
Name: Rodiego
Age: Late 20s
Area: Castana
Description: He is the son of a prostitute, though he doesn't like that fact mentioned. He's led a rough life and looks a lot older than his 20 odd years. He spends his days between his fishing boat and one of the lower class bars. He is dark-skinned and dark-haired with features rather common to a laborer. He's boarish and has little experience with dealing with the fairer sex. He thinks that a swat on a woman's backside is a proper way to introduce himself. He isn't mean-spirited, but he is somewhat stupid and tends to act before he thinks.
Name: Tibar
Age: mid-40s
Area: Avanne
Description: A tall, wiry man with long dark hair graying at the temples,
Tibar is one of Avanne's most famous joglars. He is famed for having a
vicious and unpredictable temper, the stereotypical artist's temperament,
as well as his long-standing professional and romantic relationship with
the troubadour Ciolo.
